Writeshare was founded in January 2020 to provide a community for Greenville writers. Writeshare offers classes, workshops, events with visiting authors, book clubs, and social events for the Upstate’s creative community.

Beginning in January 2026, Writeshare will offer memberships for access to our new downtown writing Studio, discounted classes, and member-led craft talks.

We welcome adult writers in all genres and of all experience levels.

I love how welcoming the Writeshare environment always is. I feel like introverts and extroverts can thrive in their own ways, with no pressure to share but always an opportunity if the mood strikes.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the writing profession is due for a revolution.

At WRITESHARE, we value community over credentials, practice over prescription, and agency over the marketplace. Because books aren’t just handed down by muses and over to publishers.

By partnering with M. Judson Booksellers, the region’s premier bookstore, WRITESHARE offers a new model of writers’ network: one that acknowledges commerce as well as creativity. WRITESHARE equips professional writers in every aspect of the trade. From first ideas to final package, the writing business is our business too.

We’re advocates and experts, collaborators and tradespeople, in support of every type and talent. Whether you think in legal pads or podcasts, query letters or pitchfests, line notes or long walks, we believe in your right as a writer to use it all.

Writeshare is a great opportunity to learn and grow as a writer in a supportive environment with a knowledgeable, helpful instructor. Invest in yourself and your writing. You won’t regret it!
If you’re thinking about writing a memoir, or are interested in learning more about the craft of writing in general, you should take a course. Writeshare is an awesome resource for anyone who wants to become a better writer!
